Hello dear internet viewer,
Today, I present to you a game that I had in my backups of my former phone BBS, but I have never opened or even used. Because the one who had uploaded it on my BBS had put such a basic description (Tetris variant) so with the amount of title that i had to try, I have tried something else. Because Tetris variants, there are tons of them. The problem, it is that here it is way much more than a simple Tetris variant, it is downright the basic concept remade based on the simple fact that we dropped pieces to align them togheter. But all the rest is different!
Gravtris developed and distributed by Murray Brandon in 1992 is a very hard spacial game inspired by Tetris where we drop the pieces on a square surface who's having a 360° gravitational atmosphere. And when I say very hard, it is to the extent of which you'll probably been caught in a nose bleeding situation. I seem to exaggerate by saying this, but do you remember that Japanese virus gag on Tetris where the player wanted a new Tetris experience using all the stereotypes of what people would like to see as a new features where it was invariably leading to frustrating situations. Well multiplie by 20 the difficulty level of frustrating situations of this gag and you'll have a pretty good idea of how much difficult that the game I am presenting today is! Yes, a game that has surpassed its master as they say.
What makes it so difficult or frustrating? As you can see in the video below that let's just say by the way it is the best I could do in the circumstances, the pieces arrived from all sides without really giving us any warning, so at first it may seem easy when there is no obstacle, but as soon as obstacles appear and the game takes 2 speed, just forget it, it is virtually almost impossible to do anything, because you only have two eyes. But, that is not all, because when I'm talking about obstacle, I don't only talk about of the traditional Tetris game pieces. Because no-no, the author decided to go futures into the concept of adding new features and he began to include bizarre pieces and some numbers which can be stacked, but numbers who will never be seen twice, just what the fuck! As, if the basic, was not difficult enough, this concept which is by way very poorly explained in the help file (and i still not sure to have well understood it, because it does not appear to be a bonus) makes the game almost impossible to play. But that is not all, because the author thinked that it would be a good idea to introduce other concepts and yes, I say that in the plural… There is a concept that a space worm try block everything in your path making it almost impossible to place the pieces where you want, explosives can be placed, but it will only explode in the middle of your pieces, which made that you can't really stack them anymore, because gravity is unidirectional so unlike a traditional Tetris, well good luck, to eventually be able to complete a line. And no it's not done yet… On the gravitational square in the middle of the map which seems to be a kind of planet, well there is constant activity, for which I did not understand anything, aside from the fact that they are harmful to us. Sometimes, they transform your pieces, they are doing it randomly, I say randomly, but I am not certain that it is really indeed random. Sometimes, they make them explode, sometimes, they add new pieces that sometimes can be stacked and who sometimes seem to hid themself under our pieces. And as if this wasn't enough, the stacking rules change as much the game progresses. And when they change at the time that the game accelerates it make the adaptation time downright impossible.
To conclude, it's probably the most difficult Tetris variant of all time. That much painful that even if you were tied to a table and somebody tortured you with a extremely hot curling iron on your genitals, it would be less painful than to get into the hell of this game! And I wonder if there is really someone who can last longer than 10 minutes on this game without bleeding of the nose while keeping his sanity! A game that I would only advise to experts extreme Tetris variants, the others, will be more than likely willing to commit suicide if you play it too long!
